Barryroe successes continue

Oilfield Technology,

The Dublin-based company Providence Resources has revealed that its Barryroe well has exceeded the daily production targets that were deemed as being necessary for the well to be commercially viable.

The company announced that the well was producing approximately 3500 bpd, almost double the 1800 bpd required for commercial viability. Final test results showed that a gas-producing zone encountered by the well was also far more productive than expected with an additional 7 million ft3/d being added to the overall flow rate.

Tony O’Reilly, CEO of Providence Resources said that, “We are very pleased to confirm that the gas zone was far more productive than we had anticipated. The well lies just km from installed pipeline infrastructure, which may provide a future route to monetise any surplus Barryroe gas production.”

The Barryroe well is situated in water 330 ft deep approximately 30 miles offshore Ireland.

Providence Resources owns 80% of the Barryroe well, with partner Lansdowne Oil & Gas holding a 20% stake in the venture.
