LRQA and CDP broaden global verification collaboration

LRQA, the of professional assurance services, has broadened its verification collaboration with CDP, including deepening their working relationship globally and an increased focus on providing best practice resources for companies.

CDP is an international, not-for-profit organisation providing the only global system for companies and cities to measure, manage and disclose vital environmental information. It holds the largest collection globally of self-reported climate change, water and forest-risk data, and currently works with more than 827 institutional investors holding in excess of US$100 trillion in assets.

Both organisations were represented at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in Paris last year, where LRQA addressed the conference on the importance of food safety resilience during one of the keynote sessions, and CDP and its collaborators in the We Mean Business coalition pushed for more ambitious environmental legislations.  For the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, the COP 21 event saw a new international agreement on climate change to keep global warming below 2°C.

LRQA is one of the founding members of the CDP verification programme, and is represented on CDP’s verification working group, which works to further develop CDP’s approach to the verification of climate change data and support disclosing companies.
