Petroplan, the global recruiter for the oil, gas and energy industry, is celebrating a record period of growth in Scotland. Despite the current market downturn, the company is on track to achieve a 30% gross profit increase in Q1 2015, compared with the same period last year. Petroplan’s headcount has grown more than three-fold over the last 12 months and the company now has a team of 11 staff operating from Aberdeen and Glasgow.
Kenny Dooley, Regional Director at Petroplan comments: “As we move into our tenth year of operations in Scotland, our team is going from strength to strength. Our success in the Aberdeen market has enabled us to tap into Glasgow’s rich talent pool to service the growing demand for skilled personnel in the city’s burgeoning energy sector. We now have an established presence in Scotland, offering clients specialist local knowledge supported by a global network and 40 years’ heritage in the sector.”
As part of a company-wide strategy, Petroplan has diversified its service offering by appointing industry experts to lead the candidate search for each of its core disciplines – commercial, drilling, engineering, IT and marine. This move has proven highly successful, resulting in a rapid rise in client demand over the last 12 months. Petroplan’s client base has increased by over 200% in Scotland alone and the company is currently servicing over 40 contracts in the region.
Dooley continues: “This growth is testament to the team’s unrivalled commitment and in-depth understanding of the sector, and our ability to source quality candidates for both permanent and contract roles. Despite the current downturn, continued investment in our own talent will enable Petroplan to offer valuable services to support organisations taking a long-term view. Combined with our strong regional presence, this places us in a unique market position and means we are well-placed to support clients and candidates in this challenging environment.”
