Tenaris’s mill in Cilegon and threading facility in Batam received safety recognitions from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration on May 26, 2014.

The mill in Cilegon was acknowledged for its zero accident achievement of 7,735,217 working hours without incidents. The Batam facility was recognised for the implementation of its safety and health management system.

“We are very proud to receive such important recognitions from the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration. These recognitions represent our commitment to the health and safety of our employees and everyone who works with us. Tenaris’s ultimate goal is to make our facilities injury free and healthy places to work,” said Lucio Costarrosa, Tenaris Country Manager Indonesia.

These recognitions came following a series of audits at both facilities including documents examination, interviews, and observations of safety conditions and the HSE programmes implemented. Once these steps were completed, Tenaris was provided with assessments based on the findings.

“We are always extending our efforts by implementing safety practices to encourage employees, contractors and visitors to reduce and prevent risks,” said Dedi Kuncoro, Tenaris Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator Indonesia. “Our efforts vary from risk assessments, hazard identifications, best practices implementations, improvements of safety conditions, trainings to increase the awareness among employees and continuous observations and meetings. Safety is and will always be our priority.”
