Merlin ERD wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Merlin ERD, the Perth-based drilling engineering consultants, has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

The award is the UK’s highest accolade for business success. Merlin ERD won the award in recognition of their outstanding performance in the International Trade sector.

Engineering support

Merlin ERD provides expert engineering support to the oil and gas industry. The company is one of only 10 businesses in Scotland across three sectors to be recognised in this year’s Queen’s Awards, and one of only around 100 businesses across the UK.

International trade

Merlin ERD wins the Queen’s Award for International Trade having grown overseas sales earnings by almost 400% over the last three years. Personnel numbers have grown from 8 to 26 over the same period, a further testament to the company’s impressive growth.

New markets continue to be added to the Merlin portfolio including Italy and Azerbaijan and the company has increased sales to its current markets from Norway to Indonesia winning a number of difficult tenders in the process.
