Ebara wins contract for Ichthys LNG cryogenic pumps and expanders

Ebara International Corp. has been awarded the contract to supply the main LPG and LNG submersible cryogenic pumps and liquid expanders for the Ichthys LNG project in Australia. The total package will include 20 pumps and 4 expanders.

The Ichthys project is jointly owned by Inpex (the operator) and Total. The project will get its feed gas from the Icthys Field located in the Browse Basin, 200 km offshore. Gas will have some preliminary processing offshore before it is piped onshore to the Ichthys LNG liquefaction plant via an 889 km pipeline.

The Ichthys LNG plant will produce 8 million tpy of LNG and 1.6 million tpy of LPG, as well as 100,000 bpd of condensate at its peak.
