Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to host safety lunch at ONS
Against a backdrop of cost pressures and spending cuts, Norway’s tradition of collaboration and government regulation will be an important subject at the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway’s safety lunch at this year’s ONS show in Stavanger.
Scheduled to take place from 12:30 on Wednesday 27 August, the safety lunch has become a well-established part of the ONS exhibition and conference.
It brings together government agencies, key leaders in the industry and the most important union representatives to discuss safety from a national and international perspective.
Costs of change
The cost of change is the title of the 2014 lunch. Anne Myhrvold, Director-General of the PSA, will address the challenges faced by safety work in a time of economic instability and pressures to achieve cost efficiencies.
Norway’s regulatory model as well as dialogue and collaboration between players in the industry will be addressed by this year’s keynote speaker, Geir Sverre Braut, under the title Respecting a regulatory tradition.
With a degree in medicine, Braut was formerly Deputy Director General of the Norwegian Board of Health and is currently Professor of Health Care Science at Stavanger University Hospital and Stord Haugesund University College.
The lunch is organised through a collaboration between the PSA and ONS, and will take place at the new Clarion Hotel Energy on the ONS exhibition site.
Attendance at the lunch is open to all. See the programme and the link for registration.
