Cheniere Energy sells stake in Freeport LNG
Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced today the closing of the sale of its 30% limited partner interest in Freeport LNG Development L.P. for approximately US$ 104 million to ZHA FLNG Purchaser, LLC, an entity formed by Zachry American Infrastructure, LLC and Hastings Funds Management (USA), Inc. on behalf of institutional investors. ZHA FLNG also bought a 25% stake from another vendor, bringing their total stake in the project to 55%.
Cheniere Energy, Inc. is a Houston-based energy company primarily engaged in LNG related businesses, and owns and operates the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal and Creole Trail pipeline in Louisiana. Cheniere is pursuing related business opportunities both upstream and downstream of the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal.
