Oilfield Technology,
Norne has been developed using a production and storage vessel (the Norne FPSO) tied to a number of well templates. Production began in 1997. The Alve, Urd, Skuld and Marulk fields are tied to the Norne FPSO.
The Petroleum Safety Authority has now given Equinor consent to extend the operation of the Norne FPSO and associated facilities until 31 December 2036.
The application covers the following activities:
- Operation of the Norne FPSO
- Operation of associated facilities for Norne, Urd, Skuld
- Well operations
- Maintenance
- Modifications/projects
The consent has been granted based on Equinor’s documentation of assessments that conclude that the facility can continue to be operated prudently in compliance with regulatory requirements.
