Statoil awards OCTIO contract for Norwegian Continental Shelf

Oilfield Technology,

Statoil has recently awarded OCTIO AS a contract on a Permanent Oilfield Monitoring System (PRM) for a field in the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Six years of monitoring and analytics

The contract with a duration of six years is on the Oseberg field with the purpose of monitoring an injection well by registration and analysing acoustic signals from the reservoir to avoid leakage to the environment.

Helge Brandsæter, President of OCTIO, says; “being awarded this contract during the market introduction phase of our ReM technology is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that our open architecture “Ethernet on the seabed” monitoring system is building operational track-record.”

Supporting increased recovery and injection monitoring

Statoil is one of the world’s leading oil companies with a high focus on reducing risk and cost of operation. The monitoring solution developed by OCTIO is a promising technology supporting increased recovery and injection monitoring for performance optimisation and avoidance of any seepage of fluids to the environments, demonstrating Statoil’s focus on sustainable and safe operations.

The development of this monitoring technology has been supported by Norges Forskningsråd (The Research Council of Norway) with funding via its Demo 2000 program. This support was instrumental in bringing this technology to the market place.

OCTIO is a technology company focusing on systems and solutions for monitoring of reservoirs, drilling and injection wells. The company is ISO 9001:2008 certified and its acquisition system, ReM, is RP-A203 qualified by DNV. OCTIO is located in Bergen and Harstad.
