RasGas’s first LNG carrier sets sail on 100th voyage
The Furwairit, RasGas Co. Ltd’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, has set sail from Spain on its 100th delivery voyage. Upon its arrival, the Fuwairit will have shipped 13.6 million cubic metres of LNG.
The conventional carrier, built by Samsung Heavy Industries, delivered RasGas’ first ever cargo shipment to South Korea in January 2004 and has since travelled almost 1 million nautical miles. It has delivered LNG cargoes from Ras Laffan to RasGas’s customers across the globe, including Japan, Spain, France, Mexico, India, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Taiwan.
