JV offers expanded coatings service to Middle East

Sherwin-Williams has expanded its services in the Middle East after establishing a new business in Saudi Arabia.
The Joint Venture, between Sherwin-Williams and Saudi Arabia-based Red Sea Housing Services Company, has launched Premier Paints Company, which will serve customers in the busy architectural, energy and construction sectors in the region.
Premier Paints Company, which has unveiled its new headquarters and manufacturing plant in Jeddah, will support the distribution and sales of Sherwin-Williams’ leading architectural and protective coatings systems, including specialist products for the structural steel and oil and gas industries.
Officially opened by His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, Saudi Arabia’s minister of commerce and industry, the facility is supported by a dedicated technical team offering advice across the portfolio of products and services.
Chris Connor, chairman and CEO of Sherwin-Williams, said: “We thank the Red Sea Housing Services Company for their expertise and support as we embark on this exciting joint venture opportunity to increase the presence of Sherwin-Williams in the Middle East market.”
His Excellency Amr Abdullah Al Dabbagh, chairman of Red Sea Housing Services Company, said: “I take great pleasure in announcing our joint venture with Sherwin-Williams and the launch of Premier Paints Company in the Middle East.
“We are pleased that through this venture we will be able to continue the tradition of introducing innovative products under our business portfolio to our discerning customers.”
Sherwin-Williams’ Protective and Marine Coatings EMEA division is based in Bolton, UK, and is part of the global Sherwin-Williams Company, a leader in the manufacture, development, distribution and sale of coatings and related products. It serves sectors including civil construction, marine, energy, fire protection and mining.
