At the National Safety Council dinner in Houston last night, CB&I was recognised for its achievement in workplace safety and community leadership with the Green Cross for Safety medal.
"Receiving the Green Cross for Safety medal is an honour as we make a daily commitment to be relentless in our efforts to keep our workers safe – they are what makes our company great," said CB&I President and CEO, Philip Asherman. "At CB&I, we believe if we get safety right that everything will fall into place, which is why safety is at the forefront of everything we do."
NSC Board Chairman Jeffery Woodbury, NSC Board Member and Trustee Chair Constance Bayne and NSC President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman presented the Green Cross for Safety medal to Mr. Asherman.
"Achieving an outstanding safety record is no small feat for a global organisation working in some of the world's riskiest industries and most challenging environments," said Hersman. "CB&I's consistent focus on leadership and employee engagement throughout the organisation and in countries on different continents, demonstrates their commitment to safety."
Past recipients of the Green Cross for Safety medal include Owens Corning, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Dow Chemical Company, Schneider Electric North America, Exelon Nuclear, FirstGroup, Delta Air Lines, UPS, DuPont, Liberty Mutual Group, Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler, Kenny Construction Company, Ryder System Inc., Intel Corporation and AK Steel.
