MOL Energy UK congratulates Dr Liane Smith of Wood Group Intetech, winner of the Inspiring Leader award at this year’s SPE Offshore Achievement Awards.
The award was presented by Ian Rattray, Supply Chain Manager at MOL Energy UK, at a prestigious awards ceremony which took place last night at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The Inspiring Leader Award recognises the professional capability and the wider contribution made to the offshore oil and gas or renewables industry by a leader who has inspired their team, either in a mentorship capacity or as a manager, to deliver an outstanding result.
In recognition of the high quality of candidate submissions for the Inspiring Leader category, the judges decided also to award a Highly Commended certificate. This was awarded to Murray Kerr of SengS Subsea Engineering Solutions.
Backing for the award reflects MOL Group’s drive to attract and develop future leaders of the oil and gas industry, in the North Sea and internationally. The Group runs three international talent acquisition programmes (Freshhh, Growww and UPPP), encouraging students to undertake oil and gas careers and develop essential entrepreneurial skills and technical expertise, as well as its LEAD leadership development programme aimed at developing the capabilities of future oil and gas industry leaders.
Chris Bird, Managing Director of MOL Energy UK, said: “In the current economic climate and low oil price, inspirational leadership is absolutely essential to help us motivate our people to overcome the challenges, so that the North Sea maintains its status as a great place to work and invest for decades to come.”
