Today Bridon have acquired the moorings business of ScanRope from the Parker Hannifin Corporation, a deal that will mean ScanRope’s deep water moorings assets transfer to Bridon Holdings Limited.
Together, the companies will continue to provide first class service and deliver to the highest standards set as global technology leaders in the manufacture of wire and fibre rope.
With ScanRope, the Bridon Group now employs over 1700 employees globally. Bridon is a global business with UK Head Office that manufactures wire and rope solutions for the world’s most demanding applications. Bridon operates across several sectors including Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Fishing & Marine and Crane and Industrial.
Bridon was originally formed in 1924 from an amalgamation of wire rope producers, the earliest of which date back to the late 18th century. Bridon was acquired by Ontario Teachers Plan (OTPP) in November 2014 from Melrose PLC. Bridon now operates twelve manufacturing units worldwide with market focused technical and sales offices, supported by a global network of agents and distributors.
