Milestone Environmental Services breaks ground on a new facility in the Permian Basin

Milestone Environmental Services has announced the ground breaking of its new slurry injection facility located near Pecos, Texas, US. The full-service facility is the sixth in South and East Texas, and will be capable of taking waste streams including oil-based and water-based muds/drilling fluids, flowback, tank bottoms, dirty water and produced water. Milestone accepts oilfield waste streams and injects them over a mile below the earth’s surface, where they are safely sequestered beneath multiple confining layers of stone.

Over the past several months, Milestone’s operations and engineering teams focused on creating best-in-class cycle time efficiency and safety enhancements. This next-generation facility design will improve handling capacity and reduce unloading and washout times for E&P customers.

The Pecos facility marks Milestone’s first entrance into the Permian Basin. In 2016, Milestone plans to construct multiple new facilities in the region and other major US E&P basins. These new facilities will provide proximate, more efficient options for customers actively drilling and producing in these key shale plays.
