Beach Energy names CFO

Beach Energy Ltd has reported the appointment of Mr Morné Engelbrecht as its Chief Financial Officer, effective 29 August 2016.
Mr Engelbrecht is a Chartered Accountant with experience in the oil, gas and resource sectors. He presently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of ASX-listed Carbon Energy Ltd, having served in this role since 2013. Prior to this he held various financial, commercial and advisory senior management positions at InterOil, Lihir Gold and PwC.
Chief Executive Officer, Matt Kay, said: “We are delighted to have secured the talents of an accomplished executive with a diverse skill-set. Morné brings to Beach over 16 years of oil, gas and resources experience gained within corporate and professional services environments. His financial and risk management expertise is complemented by demonstrated acumen in driving corporate strategy, which will be of great value in helping to deliver Beach’s growth strategy.”
Mr Engelbrecht will replace Kathryn Presser. “On behalf of the Board and company, I would like to thank Kathryn for her dedicated service to Beach over the past 19 years. Kathryn will depart Beach on 1 July 2016, and we wish her well for the future.”
