Baker Hughes announces August rig count
Baker Hughes has announced that the international rig count for August 2014 was 1339, down 43 from the 1382 counted in July 2014, and up 72 from the 1267 counted in August 2013.
Offshore
The international offshore rig count for August 2014 was 315, down 21 from the 336 counted in July 2014, and up 6 from the 309 counted in August 2013.
USA
The average US rig count for August 2014 was 1904, up 28 from the 1876 counted in July 2014, and up 123 from the 1781 counted in August 2013.
Canada
The average Canadian rig count for August 2014 was 399, up 49 from the 350 counted in July 2014, and up 31 from the 368 counted in August 2013.
Global
The worldwide rig count for August 2014 was 3642, up 34 from the 3608 counted in July 2014, and up 226 from the 3416 counted in August 2013.
