Wintershall Norge AS awards frame agreement to DNV GL

Wintershall Norge AS has selected DNV GL, a technical advisor to the oil and gas industry, for a contract which will exceed NOK10 million (or approximately US$1.2 million). DNV GL will provide a frame agreement for global inspection services at Wintershall Norge’s developments offshore Norway.

According to the contract, DNV GL will perform inspection, test and surveillance activities across all of Wintershall’s projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and globally, when instructed.

Inspection and surveillance work for Wintershall Norge

DNV GL’s services will include: review of the Inspection and Test Plan, examination of materials, products, manufacturing processes, and work procedures and services at Wintershall’s contractor’s premises. Moreoverthe company will also examine contractor’s procedures, documents, quality performance and compliance with governing standards and specifications.

The frame agreement ­– which will run for five years with a possible two, two-year extensions – is underway, with inspection and surveillance work expected to be carried out across Germany, Italy, Greece, Norway and Malaysia.

DNV GL and the Maria development

DNV GL’s services will initially be used for the ongoing Maria development, located in 300 to 350 m of water in the Haltenbanken region of the Norwegian Sea. This discovery is expected to produce around 188 million boe oil and gas from Autumn 2018.

An agreement for all Wintershall developments globally
