Buru Energy, an oil and gas exploration and production firm, have provided the following weekly update on drilling operations at the Sunbeam 1 well in EP 129 in Western Australia.
Since the last progress report, the well has been drilled ahead in 8.5 inch hole to a measured depth of 1863 ft. The forward operation is to drill ahead to the first casing point planned at approximately 2296 ft and run a cement 7 inch casing.
The Sunbeam 1 well is located in exploration permit EP 129, and completion of the well will satisfy the Year 4 work commitment on that permit. Buru Energy has a 100% equity interest in the well and in EP 129. The well is located some 53 miles south east of Derby and some 11 miles south of the Gibb River Road.
Icon Energy has signed a 20 year LNG sales agreement with Icon Energy to supply 40 million tonnes of LNG. The first cargo is expected to be delivered by 2016.
Australia, with 24 currently active and future LNG projects, could become the second largest LNG producing nation in the world by 2015, according to the International Energy Agency.
