Well 16/1-34 S will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger drilling facility at position 58°58'51.45"N and 02°18'48.53"A.
The drilling programme for well 16/1-34 S concerns the drilling of an appraisal well in production licence 167. Lundin Energy Norway AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 40%.
The other licensees are Equinor Energy AS (30%), Spirit Energy Norway AS (20%) and Aker BP ASA (10%).
The acreage in this licence consists of parts of block 16/1. The well will be drilled about 6 km southwest of the Ivar Aasen field.
Production licence 167 was awarded on 1 March 1991 (the 13th round). This is the ninth exploration well to be drilled in this licence.
