BG Norge AS has received consent to drill exploration well 34/3-5

BG Norge AS (BG) is the operator for production licence PL 373 in the Tampen area in the northern North Sea.

The PSA has given BG consent to drill exploration well 34/3-5 in a prospect named Jordbær Sør.

The well is to be drilled by the Transocean Searcher mobile drilling facility. Drilling is estimated to last for 66 days. Water depth at the site is 403m.

The well's geographical coordinates will be:

  • 61o 46' 31.15" N
  • 02o 45' 40.82" E

Transocean Searcher is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the Trosvik Bingo 3000 type, built in Tønsberg in 1983. It is owned and operated by Transocean Ltd. The facility is registered in the Marshall Islands and classified by DNV GL.

Transocean Searcher was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in December 2003.
