Teekay receives AoC for FPSO facility

Teekay Petrojarl Production AS (Teekay) has received the Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway's Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the Petrojarl Knarr FPSO mobile facility.

FPSO Petrojarl Knarr is to be used on the Knarr field, where BG Norge AS is the operator. Teekay is responsible for operation of the facility. The Knarr field is in the North Sea, approximately 50 km northeast of Snorre.

FPSO Petrojarl Knarr is classified by DNV GL and sails under the Bahamian flag. The facility was built by Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea.

Earlier this month, FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela sailed away from the Niteroi-Rio based Brasa shipyard.

Teekay and Marubeni acquire eight LNG carrier vessels

Teekay LNG Partners L.P. and its joint venture partner Marubeni Corporation have agreed to acquire ownership interests in eight LNG carriers from Denmark-based, A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, for approximately US$ 1.4 billion.
