Modec, Inc. announced today that the company and its Brazilian partner Schahin Group have been awarded a contract for supply, charter, and operations of a Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading vessel (FPSO) for the BM-C-36 block in the Campos Basin by Petrobras.
Modec and Schahin Group are responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, mobilisation, installation and operation of the FPSO, including topsides processing equipment as well as hull and marine systems. SOFEC, Inc., a subsidiary of Modec, will design and supply the spread mooring system.
The FPSO delivery is scheduled in the third quarter of 2017.
Petrobras has awarded GE Oil & Gas a four-year service agreement to deliver repairs, maintenance and retrofits on Petrobras’ fleet of subsea equipment installed in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.
Petrobras has completed the drilling of the extension exploratory well 3-BRSA-891A-RJS (3-RJS-682A) located in the Iara Evaluation Plan area, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. It has confirmed the presence of good quality oil in the well.
