The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for well 6608/10-17 S, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 6608/10-17 S will be drilled from the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility at position 66°4' 16.19" north and 08°3' 36.03" east.

The drilling programme for well 6608/10-17 S relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 128. Statoil Petroleum AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 63.95%. The other licensees are Petoro AS with 24.54% and Eni Norge AS with 11.50%.

The area in this licence consists of parts of blocks 6608/10 and 6608/11. The well will be drilled about five kilometres north of the Norne field.

Production licence 128 was awarded on 28 February 1986 in licensing round 10-B on the Norwegian shelf.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activities.
