The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Aker BP ASA a drilling permit for well 7221/12-1, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.
Well 7221/12-1 will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger drilling facility in position 72°8' 18.68" north and 21°55' 50.32" east.
The drilling programme for well 7221/12-1 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 659.
Aker BP ASA is the operator with an ownership interest of 50%. The other licensees are Petoro AS (30%) and Lundin Norway AS (20%). The area in this licence consists of the blocks/parts of blocks 7121/3, 7122/1, 7122/2, 7221/12, 7222/10, 7222/11 and 7222/12. The well will be drilled about 20 km northwest of the discovery well 7222/11-2 (Langlitinden).
Production licence 659 was awarded on 3 February 2012 in APA2011 on the Norwegian shelf. The permit is conditional on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling activity commences.
