“Congratulations to all on achieving this remarkable milestone,” said ConocoPhillips Canada President Nick McKenna.
“Safely producing 500 million barrels from Surmont is an incredible accomplishment. My deepest thanks to all involved throughout Surmont’s history and those working and supporting the asset today.”
Surmont, a steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) facility located about 55 km south of Fort McMurray, Alberta, is currently configured to produce Surmont Heavy Dilbit, which is bitumen diluted with condensate.
Operations include two central processing facilities for treatment and blending of bitumen. Surmont is a 100% working interest asset that offers sustained, long-life production.
