MultiClient Geophysical ASA has announced it has successfully completed the acquisition of the part of the Maximus 2D Multi-Client survey covering blocks, in the first deep-water bid round in the prospective Salinas Basin offshore Mexico. The survey comprises 19 000 km of high quality 2D seismic data and covers all 6 blocks to be included in the first deep-water license round in Mexico, in addition to all blocks included in the CNH 5 years plan for deep-water license rounds in the Salinas Basin. A complete processed dataset will be available in February 2016. The seismic vessel is currently acquiring regional lines for the Maximus survey outside the bid round blocks.

Tom Wolden, CEO, commented: “We are very pleased to be able to make our new data available to the oil industry ahead of the first deep-water license round in the Salinas Basin offshore Mexico expected to be announced during the 3Q16. Our modern, high quality seismic 2D data covers all 6 bid round blocks in the Salinas Basin and ties 20 wells, providing companies the possibility to extrapolate important well information into the deep-water bid round blocks”.
