ANSA, a leading provider of independent data analytics solutions to the global energy industry, has appointed Alan Walsh as its new Managing Director to spearhead the company’s next phase of growth.

This key strategic appointment sees Alan bring over 20 years of oil and gas operational management, service delivery and technical experience to ANSA’s leadership, having previously spent six years with READ Cased Hole, most recently as Service Delivery Director, and before that he worked at Halliburton for more than 16 years.

ANSA delivers the world’s most trusted and innovative diagnostics that bring clarity and insight to a broad range of oilfield projects for its clients, spanning well integrity, production logging, reservoir surveillance and end-of-well operations. Its team of multidisciplinary and highly skilled analysts are located at dedicated data hubs in the UK, US and Middle East.

Walsh said: “I am delighted and excited to have this opportunity to lead ANSA at what is truly a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution. Over the last 30 years, it has built a solid reputation amongst operators and service companies as a provider of top quality, ironclad data analysis reporting. And going forward, our commitment to the delivery of reliable, unbiased intelligence will not change, both for oilfield as well as other energy sectors. In tandem with that, we are broadening our focus to also include the development of pioneering, game-changing advances in data analytics using artificial intelligence and machine learning. I will be working closely again with Maurillio Addario, ANSA’s Data Analytics & Software Engineering Director, to see the first phases of this exciting initiative through to fruition, likely by the end of 2021.”

ANSA is majority-owned by Norwegian private equity firm, Norvestor. Tor Erling Gunnerød, Norvestor Equity Partner and Chairman of ANSA added: “Alan’s proven, successful management track record, together with his technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the ANSA business, means he can transition quickly and seamlessly into the Managing Director role. I am confident that under his stewardship, ANSA will become an even stronger team, providing only the highest levels of data analytics excellence to its clients around the world.”

Alan is taking over the company’s leadership from former CEO, Bruce Melvin, who will now manage ANSA’s key shareholder relationships and M&A activities in the role of Corporate Director.
