In 2018, North Sea oilfields recorded 307 individual months of no production in the year to September; in the same period last year, that figure had reduced to just 248, according to the Glacier Production Index.

Petrofac has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with MODS, a digitalisation and dimensional control service company, to deploy its flagship product ‘Virtual Manager Enterprise’ (VME) at scale in the North Sea.

The Thailand-based company intends to utilise the subsidiary as a vehicle to expand the provision of its subsea and related services into the UK North Sea.

The company secured contracts in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea during the second half of 2019.

The alliance will provide clients with an integrated service across a wide range of complex projects in the UK North Sea and internationally.

Alligin forms part of the Greater Schiehallion Area and has been developed as a two-well subsea tieback into the existing Schiehallion and Loyal subsea infrastructure and the Glen Lyon floating, production, storage, offload (FPSO) vessel.

The five-year contract will take effect in April 2020.

Under the MoU, the companies will offer tooling and services in four distinct areas.

The Stork Worley Integrated Solutions joint venture will provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning, and decommissioning services for a brownfield modification for Neptune Energy's Dutch assets in the North Sea.

The contract was awarded by Dana Petroleum and will be executed by Ocean Installer’s office in Aberdeen, UK, with engineering work beginning immediately and offshore operations scheduled for 2Q20.
