Aker BP receive consent for drilling on Volund field

The PSA has given Aker BP consent to use the Deepsea Stavanger mobile drilling facility for production drilling on the Volund field in the North Sea.

The consent applies to the drilling of 24/9-P-3 BH on the Volund field in the North Sea, where Aker BP is the operator. The well to be drilled in a sidetrack from well 24/9-P-3 AH.

Drilling is scheduled to begin on 24 February 2019 and is estimated to last 42 days.

Deepsea Stavanger is a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility of the GVA 7500 type, built in South Korea in 2010. It is owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling.

The PSA gave Deepsea Stavanger Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) on 16 March 2017.
