20th Asia Oil & Gas Conference (AOGC)
Kuala Lumpur is set to host global industry leaders as they converge at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 23–25 June 2019, for the 20th Asia Oil & Gas Conference (AOGC). Hosted by PETRONAS, the conference is themed “Forging A New Energy Future”, and will feature the Prime Minister of Malaysia, His Excellency Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, as a keynote speaker.
Minister of Economic Affairs of Malaysia His Excellency Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali will also be attending the biennial event which continues to be a platform for key industry players to strategically position themselves in the wake of daunting challenges from the rapid changes in the oil and gas industry.
Chairman of the AOGC 2019 Organising Committee Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof said the event continues to attract high profile industry figures, policy makers and industry experts, together with oil & gas delegates from around the world.
“This year’s conference programme will be more compelling and exciting with topics on the global energy landscape, especially on disruptive technologies and the rise of renewable energy sources. The sessions will also revolve around innovations to decarbonise the energy sector and maximise value in oil and gas output,” he added.
The plenary sessions will examine the next phase of energy transition and its impact on both society and the oil and gas industry. The conference will also focus on industry drivers and disruptive forces as well as stimulating discussions on ensuring security, sustainability and accessibility of energy for all.
Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, President & Group Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS, will be delivering the welcoming address at the Opening Ceremony of AOGC 2019, and will share his thoughts on the need to capture new growth opportunities in the rapidly changing global energy landscape.
Renowned industry experts, policymakers and speakers in the energy industry who will also be sharing their thoughts include Dr Fereidun Fesharaki, Chairman of FACTS Global Energy (FGE), United States of America; Sanjiv Singh, Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, India; Dr Sun Xiansheng, Secretary General, International Energy Forum (IEF), Saudi Arabia; Dr. Joo-Myung Kang, President, International Gas Union (IGU), South Korea; Shigeru Muraki, Executive Advisor, Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., Japan; Simon Flowers, Chairman and Chief Analyst from Wood Mackenzie, United Kingdom; and Dr. Ken Koyama, Chief Economist & Managing Director of the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ) among many others.
